Gregory Preston AM, Chairman and Managing Director of leading commercial real estate valuers and consultants, Preston Rowe Paterson, has been announced as the new President of Property Funds Association of Australia (PFA).

Preston has had a distinguished career in real estate valuation, advisory, asset management, acquisition, disposal and leasing for more than 45 years, including early stints at Knight Frank and Colliers International, before co-founding Preston Rowe Paterson in 1988.

John Taylor, Head of Private Capital at real assets investment group, Dexus, has been appointed Vice President of the PFA.

The PFA is the peak body representing Australia’s unlisted property funds industry, an influential asset class for retail, wholesale and institutional investors including the major superannuation funds.

Paul Healy, CEO of the PFA, said Greg has been a pivotal member of the PFA Executive Committee. “Greg has been a brilliant contributor to the PFA Executive Committee. He is a great supporter of the PFA and has been pivotal in helping to expand PFA’s membership, its reach and influence over many years.

“Greg was also an outstanding long-term leader of the PFA Communications Committee, and we are delighted to have him as PFA President.”

Mr Healy thanked outgoing PFA President, Melissa Kingham, an Executive Director at Haben Property Fund. “I thank Melissa for her outstanding Presidency. Melissa has been a great asset to PFA’s leadership and engagement with industry, while also driving some important advocacy issues pertinent to the unlisted property funds industry.”

Mr Preston said unlisted property funds play an important role for both investors and the economy. “I thank PFA for the opportunity to represent unlisted property investment, which has been a long-term passion of mine.

“Unlisted property is a major contributor to economic development in Australia, and contributes valuable income returns and capital growth for a wide range of investors.

“The sector is also a great driver of innovation, including more sustainable development.

“I look forward to assisting the continued expansion of the PFA, and in helping provide a voice for industry when we need to advocate on behalf of our members”, Preston said.
